About PDR Dfender - History:

PDR Dfender was first conceived in the early 2000's, during the course of Keith Skelton's work experience in the fields of Auto Body and Paintless Dent Repair (PDR).

Keith invented and built PDR Dfender as a tool to fix dents located around the edges of panels which have a single sheet/layer of metal, especially fenders.

PDR Dfender has special bends uniquely designed to allow the technician to do the dent repair without taking the tire off.

In 2017 Keith and his wife Leticia decided to apply for a patent for the tool with the USPTO. They were pleasantly surprised when the US patent (# 10,245,629) was issued on April 2, 2019.

1.   HOW MUCH DOES PDR DFENDER COST AND WHAT DETERMINES HOW PDR DFENDER IS PRICED?

Answer: PDR Dfender (Original version) costs $375 and PDR Dfender (Version 2, modified) costs $425 (+ applicable taxes and shipping fees).

PDR Dfender is priced according to several factors: 

It is the fruit of many years of experience in the fields of Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) and Auto Body Repair.

It is a patented invention (“Hand Tool for Paintless Dent Repair”, US Patent #10,245,629) by American inventors. 

It is 100% manufactured in the USA (utilizing materials from American companies and utilizing only legal/e-verified labor).

It is handcrafted in 304 Stainless Steel, which is one of the hardest and most durable metals for tool manufacturing (Note: please read more about 304 Stainless Steel below).

It is a hand tool that accurately and easily helps a skilled PDR and/or Auto Body Technician fix a dent located up to 3 ¼”from the bottom edge of a vehicle’s single-metal panel, most particularly a fender.

Its unique design allows access to the dent without the need to remove the wheel and without contact of the tool’s handlebars with the fender.

2. WHY IS PDR Dfender MADE OF 304 STAINLESS STEEL?

 Answer: We have chosen to manufacture PDR Dfender in 304 Stainless Steel due to its:

Superior durability and longevity

Resistance to corrosion and oxidation

Surgically shiny appearance

Ease of cleaning

 3. IS PDR DFENDER MADE TO ALLOW INTERCHANGEABLE TIPS?

Answer: The original version of PDR Dfender has a rounded tip, designed to fix dents on the lower part of the fender and the tip is made to rebuild the body line on the fender. However, if desired, a Technician may insert a rubber tip on PDR Dfender’s tip (it fits).

Note: The second/modified version of PDR Dfender has been designed with a special attachment that allows interchangeable tips to be screwed on to it. Read the section below for more details about the second/modified version.

4. DOES PDR DFENDER HAVE ANY PADDING ON THE U-SHAPED PART THAT COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE FENDER?

Answer: Yes, we have just started to add a foam-like padding to the u-shaped part of the tool that comes in contact with the fender, so as to help avoid any accidental scratches during dent repairs.

5. WHY DOESN’T PDR DFENDER HAVE A SPRING ON THE HANDLES?

Answer: PDR Dfender is very light weight (approximately 1lb 10 oz), therefore its handles can be easily manipulated without the need for springs. Once the handle is released, it springs back on itself.

PDRDfender (version2, modified) - FAQ

1. WHAT IS THE PDR DFENDER (VERSION 2, MODIFIED)?

Answer: PDR Dfender (version 2, modified) is still the same tool as the original PDR Dfender, but with a few modifications:

1. We’ve added some clear handle covers to make it more comfortable to hold.

2. We’ve added a special attachment on top of the original tip. This attachment allows you to screw on different tips, such as the Dentcraft R4 or R4-P. This attachment will give you multiple options to work the dents.

2. IS THE PDR DFENDER (VERSION 2, MODIFIED) BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL PDR DFENDER?

Answer: Both versions allow superior and accurate dent repair and keep the original PDR Dfender’s rounded tip, which is designed to fix dents on the lower part of the fender and the tip is made to rebuild the body line on the fender. 

It allows aTechnician to insert a rubber tip on its tip (it fits). As to PDR Dfender (version 2, modified), it has an added attachment for interchangeable tips to be screwed on. Note: screw-on tips NOT included.

3. WHY DOES THE PDR DFENDER (VERSION 2, MODIFIED) COST MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL VERSION?

Answer: The added cost reflects the extra materials and labor needed to make the modifications that were added to the original tool. Note: screw-on tips NOT included.

4. DO YOU OFFER A TRIAL PERIOD FOR PDR DFENDER (ORIGINAL AND VERSION 2)?

Answer: While we do not offer a trial period for PDR Dfender, we believe any skilled PDR Technician or Auto Body Technician will be able to easily and accurately use it to fix dents located on vehicles single-metal panels, especially fenders. 

5. WHAT PAYMENT OPTIONS ARE ACCEPTED?

Answer: We currently accept payments via PayPal.

6. DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Answer: Yes, we can ship internationally to most countries. International Buyers are responsible for any applicable taxes and shipping fees, including any Customs taxes in their countries.

Limited 3-Year Warranty 

Each PDR Dfender tool is uniquely handcrafted in 304 Stainless Steel to meet high quality and durability handcrafting standards and we warrant to the original purchaser that this product is free from defects in materials for the period of 3 years from the date of purchase. 

This warranty does not apply to damage due to direct or indirect misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents, repairs or alterations outside our facilities, criminal activity, improper use, normal wear and tear, or lack of care/maintenance. 

We shall in no event be liable for death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special or consequential damages arising from the use of this product. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation of exclusion may not apply to you. 

THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY VALID IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANT-ABILITY AND FITNESS.

To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with shipping charges prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise. 

If our inspection verifies the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. 

We will return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
